help me understand this poem …?
I need to understand this poem for my class … here it is … Wed Lullaby Elionor the old moon-Wylie tarnished by the smoke of the flood's death leaves a varnish with the color of blood as a traitor Smiler teeth as white as milk, raw silk sheets beguilder The slides from the sea to plunder, which slides on its prey, a child of the village, was killed today. She came to meet with a layer of gold without problems, she struck and beaten to death by a joke His hair was matted light She cried with joy, With one hand, a strong boy strangled. However, in a silence death, stops at his side all night to wash her long fingers and the silver light
He speaks in metaphors treacherous waves as a woman who was murdered (drowned) children who had been attracted by its calm waters (silk lime split wastes a layer of plain gold), only to be defeated by the waves of violence that followed (His hair was matted with bright …. On the one hand, strangled etc) The last verse talks about the murderer as an attempt to drown his guilt of blood. It is a morbid poem, highly suggestive and rich metaphors.
